Dancers of Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre /Ballet des Amériques company go through pointe shoes very fast, particularly during peak rehearsals time. Often company members will “kill” one or two pair of custom made pointe shoes during rehearsal or performance time. Pointe shoes are very expensive and can cost from $100 to $135. The Pointe for Pointe Fund helps to cover part of the expense of such beautiful, required and critical needed tool that are pointe shoes.
All used pointe shoes are recycled and given to a pointe-shoe-art projects, intended to encourage recycling while introducing young people to the arts.
