About the Choreographer:

Carole Alexis is an internationally recognized dance choreographer, director, producer, pedagogue and Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) of the French Republic. Born in Martinique, Carole Alexis grew up, trained and worked in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean before immigrating to the United States. In 2011, she founded Ballet des Amériques, a nonprofit organization comprising a professional dance company and a pre-professional ballet conservatory.
